Transformer Live Wallpaper | Newtab Wallpaper is a Chrome extension that replaces the default Chrome new tab page with a customizable robot-themed live wallpaper dashboard. The extension provides animated wallpapers, search, shortcuts/quick links, a notepad, a news widget, customization settings, and may display affiliate links or sponsored recommendations.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension collects, uses, stores, and shares.

1. Information We Collect and Handle

The extension may handle the following types of user data only for the purpose of providing the new tab wallpaper dashboard features:

a) User-provided content

Users may create or save content inside the extension, such as notepad text, custom shortcut names, custom shortcut URLs, selected wallpapers, theme settings, widget preferences, and search provider preferences.

b) Search queries

When users type a search query into the search box, the query is sent to the selected search provider so the user can view search results. We do not store search queries on our own servers.

c) Affiliate interaction data

The extension may include affiliate links, sponsored links, or promotional recommendations. If a user clicks an affiliate link, the affiliate partner may receive information necessary to track the referral, such as the clicked link, referral ID, browser request information, and related technical data.

d) Technical data from third-party content

If the extension loads news, wallpaper content, images, videos, or external resources, the third-party provider may receive standard technical request data such as IP address, browser type, device information, date/time of request, and the requested content URL.

We do not collect the following information directly:

- Name

- Email address

- Phone number

- Physical address

- Passwords

- Authentication credentials

- Payment information

- Health information

- Precise GPS location

- Personal communications such as emails, chats, or private messages

2. How We Use Information

We use the information handled by the extension only to provide and improve the extension’s single purpose: a customizable live wallpaper new tab experience.

Information may be used to:

- Save and restore user preferences

- Display selected wallpapers and themes

- Save notepad content locally

- Save shortcuts or quick links locally

- Provide a search box on the new tab page

- Display news headlines or updates

- Show affiliate links, sponsored links, or promotional recommendations

- Maintain extension functionality and user experience

3. Local Storage

The extension uses Chrome storage or browser local storage to save user settings and preferences on the user’s device/browser.

Locally stored data may include:

- Selected wallpaper or theme

- Shortcut/quick link settings

- Notepad content

- Widget settings

- Search provider settings

- Customization preferences

This data is stored locally to restore the user’s new tab experience each time a new tab is opened. We do not sell this data.

Users can delete locally stored data by clearing browser extension data, resetting the extension, or uninstalling the extension.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell user data.

We do not transfer user data to third parties except in the following limited cases:

a) Search providers

When a user performs a search using the extension’s search box, the search query is sent to the selected search provider to provide search results.

b) News/content providers

If the news widget or wallpaper/content features load external content, the third-party content provider may receive standard technical request data required to deliver that content.

c) Affiliate partners

The extension may use affiliate links or sponsored links. If a user clicks an affiliate link, the affiliate partner may receive referral-related information needed to track the affiliate referral. This may allow us to earn a commission at no extra cost to the user.

d) Legal or security requirements

We may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the security and integrity of the extension.

5. Affiliate Disclosure

Transformer Live Wallpaper | Newtab Wallpaper may participate in affiliate programs. This means some links, recommendations, buttons, offers, or sponsored placements shown in the extension may be affiliate links.

If a user clicks an affiliate link or completes a qualifying action, we may earn a commission. This does not increase the cost to the user.

Affiliate links or sponsored content are used only to support the extension and will be presented in a way that is relevant to the extension experience. Users are not required to click affiliate links to use the main new tab wallpaper features.

6. Advertising and Sponsored Content

The extension may display affiliate links, sponsored links, or promotional content. Sponsored or affiliate content may appear in the new tab dashboard, widgets, or related recommendation areas.

We do not use sensitive personal information for targeted advertising.

7. Remote Code

The extension does not use remote executable code. All JavaScript and executable code required for the extension is included in the extension package submitted to the Chrome Web Store.

The extension may load non-executable content such as images, videos, wallpapers, news data, or affiliate/sponsored link data when needed for the user-facing new tab experience.

8. Permissions

Storage Permission:

Used to save user preferences locally, including selected wallpapers, shortcuts, notepad content, widget settings, and customization options.

Search Permission:

Used to provide the built-in search box on the custom new tab page and allow users to search from the extension dashboard.

The extension only requests permissions necessary to provide its single purpose.

9. Limited Use Statement

The use of information received from Chrome APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

We use user data only to provide or improve the extension’s single purpose. We do not use or transfer user data for unrelated purposes, for creditworthiness, or for lending purposes.

10. Data Security

We use reasonable safeguards to protect information handled by the extension. Locally stored data remains in the user’s browser storage unless the user clears it or uninstalls the extension.

However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

11. Children’s Privacy

The extension is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that personal information from a child has been collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

12. User Choices and Control

Users may:

- Change extension settings from the new tab page

- Remove saved shortcuts or notes

- Clear browser or extension storage

- Uninstall the extension at any time

- Avoid clicking affiliate or sponsored links

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted with a new effective date.
